Renowned make-up artist Jo Sugar came into the Fashion Mode office to test out make up looks for our fast approaching London Fashion Week shows. Zoe and I were only too happy to volunteer to be tested on!
Our creative director, Andrea Abraham, researched the 'yurei', a Japanese ghost for Florian Jayet's show. The models will look eerie, pale skin, dark eyes and smudged lips. Jo used her expertise to keep the look beautiful despite the frightening influences. Make-up was even airbrushed onto the hair through lace to create intricate patterns, which reflect some of the fabrics used in Florian's S/S 12 collection.
At the other end of the spectrum the make up for Carlotta's show couldn't be more different! Bright, vibrant hues will pick out the colours from her S/S 12 collection. The reference to the traditional Geisha in Carlotta's concept has been given a modern twist. Jo managed to use exceptionally strong colour yet not let the look become too theatrical.
